Loan Watch: How did Liverpool’s loan players fare at the weekend?

The Reds have been very busy over the Christmas period, and remain undefeated in the Premier League with hopes to continue this in tonight’s game against Manchester City.

But how have the players out on loan performed in their most recent games?

Danny Ings – Southampton

Ings was an unused sub in Southampton’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday with Charlie Austin preferred upfront.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg got the goal for the Saints and David Silva, a James Ward-Prowse own goal and Sergio Aguero all scored for City.

Ings then played the first half before being replaced by Shane Long in 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night.

But despite the point, Southampton moved down to 18th place in the Premier League.
