Much like Liverpool’s 2-1 comeback win over Aston Villa this afternoon, Manchester City fought back from being one goal down to beat Southampton.
The Cityzens’ victory keeps them in the race for the Premier League title, although the club will be disheartened by Sadio Mane’s late winner for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s men ran the defending champions close last season, although they couldn’t get over the line, with City eventually winning by a single point.

This season though, the Reds are comfortably in the lead in the title race and City face pressure to keep up with Klopp’s side.
Responding to both clubs’ results this afternoon, many City fans have expressed their disappointment in Liverpool’s comeback win on social media.

It’ll be interesting to see how the title race unfolds as the next couple of months go by, because for the neutral, it should heat up.
Liverpool proved against Aston Villa that they have the will to fight till the very last minute, and while they may be helped by a bit of luck from time to time, that determination is what champions and winners are made of.
