Nainggolan warns Liverpool that Champions League tie isn’t over

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has fired a warning to Liverpool ahead of their second-leg tie in the Champions League semi-final that Roma are far from out, despite the Reds leading 5-2 from the first-leg at Anfield.

The Italian giants looked dead and buried, having suffered a five goal deficit with ten minutes to go. Thankfully for the Giallorossi, late goals from Edin Džeko and Diego Perotti brought the score back to a more respectable deficit.

Having elected to play a high line against the Reds, Roma were torn apart due to impressive Liverpool offence and poor Roma defence. Despite this, the Belgian midfielder believes that his side will take a number of positives away from the game. As quoted by Metro Sport, Nainggolan said;

We started the game well, but then we made too many mistakes and we gave our opponents too many chances.

At 5-0 it was too much, but with the 5-2 we still have the hope of going through. We need to reassemble like we did with Barcelona and go through with a 3-0 win.

We know it’ll be difficult, but we’ve already done it once.

Roma successfully overcame a 4-1 first-leg deficit against Barcelona in the previous round of the competition this year, and they will need to take confidence from that to replicate it in order to come back against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
