Liverpool have been handed a boost in their Champions League semi-final second-leg tie with Roma, with duo Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman having been ruled out of the match on Wednesday.
Perotti scored Roma’s second goal in the first-leg, a penalty to take the score to 5-2, leaving the door open for a second-leg comeback for the Giallorossi.
The Argentina international will miss the second-leg though after sustaining an ankle injury at Anfield, while Strootman also won’t be able to make the game at Stadio Olimpico in five days following a knock, as confirmed by Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
Liverpool will be hoping to reach their first Champions League final since 2006/07 when they lost to Milan, and their first European final since 2015/16 where they lost to Sevilla in the Europa League.
