Five Liverpool youngsters who could get a chance in tonight’s League Cup game

Liverpool have a rich history of having young players come from the academy and play for the first team, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being the most recent example.

Alexander-Arnold went from his Premier League debut to starting in the Champions League final and being in England’s World Cup squad in less than 18 months.

Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher are among the plethora of Reds to feature extensively for the first team from the academy.

With a lot of the Under 23s from last season being loaned out, the Under 18s have stepped into the spotlight.

Currently 9th in the Premier League 2 table, the youngster’s still have a lot to prove this year.

Many of them could be given a chance in tonight’s game with Jurgen Klpoll likely to rotate the side that beat last Southampton 3-0 in the Premier League.

We look at the young players who could get their chance to shine in tonight’s Carabao Cup fixture against Chelsea at Anfield.
