Four Findings: Liverpool 0-3 Napoli (Pre-season)

Liverpool suffered a 3-0 defeat against Napoli in their latest pre-season outing.

The Reds headed into the match following their time in the United States, which ended with a 2-2 draw against Portuguese giants Sporting CP.

Having failed to win in their three most recent friendly matches, Liverpool fans hoped to see a marked improvement in the fixture with Napoli at Murrayfield in Edinburgh.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men were swatted aside as the Italian giants ran riot, causing havoc in the Reds’ back-line.

Napoli took the lead in the 17th minute courtesy of an impressive strike from experienced attacker Lorenzo Insigne. Just 11 minutes later, Carlo Ancelotti’s side doubled their advantage as Arkadiusz Milik found the back of the net.

Liverpool came out after the interval in the hope of upping their performance levels but were almost instantly knocked back, as Amin Younes scored in the 52nd minute.

Ahead of the Reds’ Community Shield clash against Manchester City next weekend, it was far from an ideal runout against Napoli.

Here are four findings from the comprehensive 3-0 defeat.
