Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has denied claims that Fenway Sports Group rejected a £1.5billion offer for the club.
There were reports that Dubai financier Amanda Staveley had been negotiations with the club over a potential takeover.
However, Werner has now unequivocally denied those claims, with it looking unlikely that FSG will sell the club.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Werner said this:
We have better things to do than batting down rumours about negotiations with Ms Staveley.

However, there’s no truth to them.
The reports claimed that Staveley had been speaking with FSG over the past year in order to become owners of Liverpool Football Club.
The deal was reported to be £1.2bn, rising to £1.5bn. These figures are now known to be false.
FSG bought Liverpool for £300m in 2010, which would mean they could make a substantial profit on the club if they were to sell in the present day.
