Full-backs Liverpool could target this summer to cover Robertson and Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool’s Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold played a key role in the Reds’ successful campaign under Jurgen Klopp last season, with both showing their defensive and attacking qualities throughout the campaign.

Alexander-Arnold’s crossing ability has led to comparisons with former England captain David Beckham, with the right-back providing 16 assists in all competitions.

Left-back Robertson meanwhile also enjoyed a standout campaign at Anfield, proving a real fan favourite with his tireless work rate which helped the Reds to a sixth European title.

However, cover for the pair appears to be fairly limited.

Joe Gomez and James Milner are able to slot in and cover Alexander-Arnold on the right-side, with out of favour right-back Nathaniel Clyne looking likely to depart the club this summer.

Meanwhile, second choice left-back Alberto Moreno looks set to leave Anfield when his deal expires next month.

Klopp looks set to bolster his full-back options ahead of the new season, so we’ve taken a look at three right-backs and three left-backs the German could decide to pursue this summer.
