Liverpool battled to a 0-0 draw away at Arsenal on Monday night; a much better result than the 4-1 drubbing the Reds took on the same ground last season.
One point might have been three for the Reds, but Petr Cech kept goal heroically in the first half, tipping one Philippe Coutinho shot onto the post and keeping out a Christian Benteke effort from close range.
But Brendan Rodgers’ men spent most of the second half on the back foot, and will be pleased to travel back to Merseyside with a point and yet another clean sheet in the bag.
Here are some images from the game.

The fans pile in to the Emirates.

James Milner, who was his usual industrial self on the night, battles with Olivier Giroud.

Nothing seems to faze Joe Gomez. Another assured performance from him at full-back.

Benteke might feel he should have scored late in the first half when Roberto Firmino found him inside the six-yard box.

Milner can’t quite believe that he hasn’t put the Reds ahead.

Firmino got an hour under his belt, and showed some promise.

Nathaniel Clyne: outstanding again.

In what may have been his farewell appearance, Lucas Leiva put himself about and closed Mesut Ozil down well.

Coutinho rattled the woodwork twice. On another night he may have been the hero again.

Martin Skrtel was perhaps the man of the match. Fortunate not to put through his own net deep into the second half, though.

Alberto Moreno went on one of his trademark runs towards the end, and should have passed when he bore down on goal.
