Haaland is Man United’s ‘primary goal’ next summer – should Liverpool swoop?

Liverpool have the pedigree to beat Manchester United to the signing of Erling Haaland next summer.

The 19-year-old has made a stunning start to the season for Salzburg, scoring 18 goals in just 11 appearances.

One of those goals came away to Liverpool in the Champions League, as his reputation continues to grow.

According to AS, via Sport Witness, United see Haaland as a ‘primary goal’ at the end of the season, as they look to close the gap on themselves at Liverpool.

Real Madrid are also being tipped to make a move for the striker, with a top European club set to be his next destination.

There was a time when Liverpool simply couldn’t battle with United in the transfer market, such was their rivals’ financial advantage over them, as well as their chance of success on the pitch.

Things have changed hugely now, however, with the Reds arguably Europe’s top side.

Haaland may be offered more money by United, but he would surely jump at the chance to join the Jurgen Klopp revolution instead.

Liverpool should, therefore, consider taking a punt on the Norwegian teenager, beating their rivals to him in the process.
