Jurgen Klopp believes Divock Origi is a “Liverpool legend”, as the Belgian’s stock continues to rise.
Before the start of last season, it looked inevitable that Origi would leave Liverpool, having been out on loan at Wolfsburg and fallen out of favour under Klopp.
In an unlikely turnaround in fortunes, however, the 24-year-old enjoy a campaign to remember, scoring massive goals against Everton, Barcelona, Newcastle and Tottenham.
He has carried on in a similar vein this season, notching important strikes and being effective from the substitutes’ bench.
Speaking in his pre-Genk press conference on Monday, Klopp brilliantly made an effort to say that Origi should be remembered by his former youth team club, not just players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Kalidou Kouibaly:
Don’t forget Divock Origi, he’s a Liverpool legend.
