Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has spoken of his admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
The Reds have made an outrageous start to the season, topping the Premier League by six points and remaining unbeaten after 19 matches.
Speaking to Paddy Power, Petit admits he would love to play for the current Liverpool, describing them as an anti-Man City in many ways:
I’m an Arsenal fan, but I’m so happy when I watch Liverpool play, because I wish I could play with them.
They have improved a lot since last year, not just the results but also the team spirit.
They were already a great team to watch but they’ve become more efficient. It looks as if they’re enjoying what they’re doing.

The way they play as a team – the unity, the spirit – is wonderful to watch.
Liverpool have more confidence than last season, and believe in their manager and how he wants them to play – the pressing, direct football.
It’s like watching some teams from back in the day because, for the past ten years or so, nearly every side was focussed on possession.
The way Liverpool are playing is the complete opposite of what Pep Guardiola does, and I love it.
Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening, as they aim to keep their incredible run going.
Unai Emery’s men will pose a threat, however, in what promises to be a barnstorming game on Merseyside.
