Liverpool have assessed the potential signing of Kai Havertz this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 20-year-old has been linked with the Reds numerous times during the season, with Jurgen Klopp possibly viewing him as someone who could improve the midfield.
Havertz is one of the rising stars of German football, with Transfermarkt valuing him at £81 million currently.
It is noted by the Echo that Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price of around £100 million could be an issue, however.

Although Liverpool’s midfield is well-stocked with quality, there are times when it can look one-dimensional. This is where I believe Havertz can make a difference, using his creativity and goal threat to good use.
He has as many league assists (five) this season as Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner and Adam Lallana combined, also averaging more key passes per game (2.3) than any Liverpool player, barring Trent Alexander-Arnold.
At 20, Havertz would also represent a young option in a midfield full of players either over or approaching 30, allowing him to potentially become a key player for years to come.
