Journalist expects Liverpool to make “a couple of big signings”

Liverpool will make “a couple of big signings” in the near future, according to the Mirror‘s David Maddock.

The Reds experienced a quiet time of things in the transfer market last summer, with no big names arriving.

There was concern that a lack of business would see Liverpool go backwards after their Champions League success, but instead, they have got even stronger.

Despite that, there is a need to add to the squad moving forward, with huge names such as Jadon Sancho, Timo Werner and even Kylian Mbappe linked with the club.

Speaking to @LFC4Ar, Maddock said he expects significant business to be done soon:

I believe there will be a couple of big signings, maybe one in January and another in the summer.

They will stick to the model of finding players aged between 19-24, with potential to get better. They’d still cost a lot of money thought.

It is such an exciting time to be a Liverpool supporter, with the club thriving both on and off the pitch.

Most players around the world would love to be involved in Jurgen Klopp’s team, so it’s no surprise to see world-class talent being linked.

Sancho feels the most likely star signing at the moment, with the Borussia Dortmund man keen on a move to England.

Mbappe would be the marquee signing, however, but it feels highly unlikely.
