Jurgen Klopp gives green light for Marko Grujic exit

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given the green light for the club to sell midfielder Marko Grujic this summer, according to reports.

The Serbian was the first player signed by Liverpool in the Klopp-era but he’s never quite been able to make the breakthrough into the first-team on a regular basis and as such, he’s spent time out on loan with Cardiff City and Hertha Berlin.

Hertha are apparently keen to keep the 24-year-old on a permanent basis but as it stands, he’s set to rejoin the Reds for pre-season ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

However, if these reports are to believed then Klopp is happy to cash in on the midfielder, who could apparently fetch somewhere between £10m and £15m if he’s sold.

Aged 24, it seems like it’s now or never for Grujic in terms of him forging a career at Liverpool.

If Klopp isn’t ready to use him now, then a sale rather than another loan could make sense for all parties involved.

Given that Adam Lallana is leaving and the budget for transfers could be tight, Grujic may we’ll be in Klopp’s plans but if he’s not, a sale to Berlin seems to be the most logical next step for the player and the club to take.
