Jurgen Klopp hails Liverpool’s “massive” win over Burnley

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Burnley was a “massive” moment in his side’s season.

The Reds’ Premier League title challenge looked to be suffering a huge blow on Wednesday night, after Jack Cork prodded the hosts in front at Turf Moor.

Liverpool regrouped impressively, however, with goals from James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri turning the game on its head.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Klopp discussed how pivotal it felt, at a ground they have struggled at in the past:

This is a massive, massive win for us.

Last year we were here on January 1 with Ragnar Klavan [scoring the winner]. For me, at the end of the season, it was the game of the season because of doing that.

This was similar. The goals were not that late but it was similar. That’s really cool.

It’s obviously not our place for brilliant football but the results have been OK for a couple of years.

The challenges keep on coming for Klopp’s men, with a tough trip to Bournemouth up next on Saturday lunchtime.

A win will take Liverpool top of the Premier League for a few hours at least, with Manchester City travelling to Chelsea later in the day.
