Kane ruled out of Liverpool clash

Tottenham Hotspur striker harry Kane had to be withdrawn early from his side’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year’s Day.

The forward left the field clutching his left hamstring after poking the ball into the net after being flagged offside.

Kane immediately signalled to the bench to be withdrawn and it has been confirmed by the north London club that he has suffered a left hamstring tear.

There has been no timescale given but this sort of injury takes at least a few weeks to recover, if not more, meaning he is certainly ruled out of the Premier League encounter with the Reds on 11th January.

Spurs will be less dangerous without their talisman and this provides a big boost to the Reds ahead of the encounter.

Of course, it’s always sad to see a player suffer from an injury and with the form Jurgen Klopp’s men are in, even if Kane was fit then it wouldn’t have been much of a problem.

Everyone at Read Liverpool wishes the striker a swift recovery.
