Naby Keita has been linked with a surprise return to RB Leipzig this summer.
The Guinean has suffered a frustrating time at Liverpool, with injuries and inconsistent form seeing him struggle to meet expectations.
According to journalist Manuel Veth on Twitter, who cites claims from Bild, the Reds are considering selling Keita at the end of the season.
Leipzig have been described as a ‘potential destination’, with Keita leaving them in 2018 to join Liverpool. As one of the club’s top earners, it is reported by Bild that Keita may need to take a sizeable wage cut in order to return to Germany.

There is no denying that Keita has flattered to deceive at Anfield, but selling him now would be too soon, in my opinion. At 25, he is still arguably not at his peak yet, and if he can rid himself of injuries, he could be a superb player for Liverpool.
While Keita hasn’t necessarily caught the eye with spectacular moments, a lot of the work he does goes unnoticed.
Of the Reds players to have started at least one Premier League game this season, only Gini Wijnaldum (90.9%) and Virgil van Dijk (89.2%) have a better pass completion rate than the midfielder (88.9%).
Only Jordan Henderson has averaged more key passes per match among the midfielders – 1.0 compared to 0.9 – while he has has the third-most tackles per game.
The likes of James Milner, Henderson and Wijnaldum are all not getting any younger, too, so Keita could become a key man if Liverpool persist with him.
