Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed that it may take six months for Fabinho to be ready to play for the club.
Fabinho joined Liverpool from French side AS Monaco in the summer in a deal worth in the region of £44m.
Klopp has so far opted against starting Fabinho and the midfielder’s only appearance came off the bench against PSG in the Champions League.
The German coach has admitted that it may take Fabinho even longer to be ready to start, however, as he continues to await his chance.
As quoted by The Independent, Klopp said this:
there’s no time to say ‘I give you that, or that’, but it will happen. Because the game is so quick and intense, it needs to get natural. It’s not about changing these players, we want their football personality. They are here because of what they did.
Three or five weeks sound like a long time in football, but to improve something you can give half a year, to really make the next step. That’s it.
