According to the Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is determined to beat Premier League rivals Chelsea in the race to land American star Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old, who is thought to be valued at £70 million by his current club, shone for the USA against England at Wembley Stadium on Thursday night.
The attacking midfielder originally broke into the picture with Dortmund four years ago, after Klopp asked Pulisic to step up into first-team training shortly before he left for Liverpool.
Since then, the American has become a star in the Bundesliga, turning out over 100 times for Dortmund in all competitions, scoring on 15 occasions.
However, despite enjoying four succesful years in Germany, Pulisic has reportedly failed to agree a new deal with Dortmund, and with his current deal expiring in 2020, the German giants are thought to be reluctantly willing to cash in on the youngster.
Many clubs around Europe are now monitoring Pulisic’s situation, including Chelsea and Liverpool.
And Klopp seems desperate to beat Chelsea to the signature of Pulisic, with an Anfield source revealing there is now way the current Reds boss will back down from a deal now.
Having watched Christian develop there is no way Jurgen is going to back off now. He knows he is a talent who can light up the Premier League.
