Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool supporters to show patience with new signing Takumi Minamino.
The 24-year-old officially became a Reds player on New Year’s Day, having completed a move from Salzburg.
Minamino was superb against Liverpool in the Champions League this season, giving supporters a taste of his quality.
He could make his debut in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, as the Reds face Everton at Anfield.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Klopp said Minamino may take time to settle – something fans need to be aware of:
We will see how he fits in but in this period of the season it will not be after 15 weeks when we use him, but is he a finished article in March? I don’t know.
We will start learning about each other from now on and he will have all the time he needs, how much he’ll need I have no idea. But it would be nice if people could give him some time.

Klopp’s style of play is not the easiest to adjust to, so expecting too much from Minamino straight away would be reckless.
Numerous players in the past has taken time to hit top gear, including the likes of Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Minamino could be no different, so early criticism would be uncalled for from Reds supporters.
