Klopp wants Lewandowski at Anfield

Newly-appointed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks he can bring Robert Lewandowski – whom he worked with at Borussia Dortmund – to Merseyside, according to John Richardson of the Express.

Lewandowski is one of the hottest strikers in the world at the moment with 21 goals to his name already this season, and would represent a huge coup for the Reds if a deal were to be pulled off.

The Express report that the 27-year-old has hinted that he would be keen on working with his former manager again, particularly as Klopp is now working in the Premier League.

They also claim that fellow English sides Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring the Pole, but Klopp holds an advantage over his rivals.

Richardson says that Bayern would demand north of £60m for their talisman, which would smash Liverpool’s transfer record.

The Reds spent significant money on attacking players during the summer, but two of the major additions – Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino – have picked up injuries in the early goings of the campaign.
