It’s now seven years since Dirk Kuyt left Liverpool, having spent six seasons as a Reds player.
During that time, the Dutchman became a crowd favourite, scoring huge goals and showing an admirable work ethic.
Kuyt is now hoping to return to English football in some capacity, having retired from the game.
According to The Athletic, the 39-year-old is part of a group of ex-players who tried to buy Wycombe Wanderers, although a bid eventually collapsed.
Dennis Bergkamp and Henrik Larsson are also in the group, in what represents an interesting venture.
Kuyt and his colleagues had a vision of “catapulting Wycombe into stardom”, but that ship has now sailed.
The report states “if not Wycombe, it will be someone else”, though.

Kuyt always came across as an intelligent individual during his Liverpool days and it’s intriguing to see him attempting a new career as a football club owner.
He possessed a winning mentality that should stand him in good stead, especially alongside figures of Bergkamp and Larsson’s stature.
Should a takeover go through for another club, many Liverpool supporters may find themselves keeping an eye on their results every week.
