Jean-Pierre Longonda would be an exciting signing by Liverpool, joining a number of other hugely talented long-term prospects at Anfield.
According to Foot Mercato, the Reds are locked in a battle with rivals Manchester United for the Lille starlet’s signature.
Chelsea are also thought to be in the running for the 17-year-old, who is a midfielder.
There has been a bid from an unnamed Serie A, too, but Longonda’s preference could be the Premier League.

The teenager wouldn’t be a signing that would affect the present, with his potential arrival very much a long-term solution.
Liverpool have made it clear that they are planning on remaining a force in the future, bringing in highly-rated young pair Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott this summer.
Longonda could be the latest to add to a growing list of young Anfield hopefuls, eventually replacing the likes of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner in the Reds’ squad.
His performances in defensive midfield for Belgium’s under-17s have caught the eye and his reputation is only growing.
Lille are yet to offer Longonda a professional contract and Liverpool could swoop, in what would be a significant piece of business.
