Liverpool chase Leicester goalkeeper

Liverpool have made an enquiry for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, according to Neil Moxley from the Sunday People.

Moxley claims that Leicester City have no interest in selling the Dane this month as they remain in contention for the Premier League title.

The Reds confirmed on their official website last Monday that current number one ‘keeper Simon Mignolet had signed a new long-term contract at Anfield, but the former Sunderland man is struggling for form at present, and conceded four goals against Norwich City on Saturday lunchtime.

Adam Bogdan has lost his place on the bench at Liverpool, with recently-recalled Danny Ward being preferred.

Jurgen Klopp has already brought in defender Steven Caulker during this window as he looks to bolster his defence.

As per the report in the Sunday People, the Reds’ bitter rivals Manchester United are also monitoring Schmeichel, whose father Peter was a legend at Old Trafford.
