Liverpool club doctor Andrew Massey wanted by FIFA

While everything seems to be going Liverpool’s way on the pitch, behind the scenes they could be about to lose a key member of their backroom staff.

The Liverpool Echo reports that club doctor Andrew Massey could be about to leave Anfield for a new role with FIFA.

Massey is a man in demand and has reportedly been ‘headhunted by FIFA’ for three months, who want to appoint him for a new role in 2020.

This would come as a real blow for Liverpool, especially when you consider how well everything is going for the club domestically this season.

While only those behind the scenes will truly understand the importance of Massey and his role, the change is not ideal for the club as they battle for the Premier League title.

Liverpool’s patchy injury record under Klopp has been well documented and while it has improved in recent years, the club will be keen to avoid too much disruption, especially at a time where fixtures are constantly coming thick and fast.
