Liverpool could receive gold trophy if they remain unbeaten in the league

Liverpool could receive a golden trophy if they go the entire Premier League season unbeaten, according to the Daily Mail.

The Reds have only lost once in the league since last January, when they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City.

They remain unbeaten after 26 matches in 2019/20, dropping only two points in that time.

This report states that a gold trophy could be handed to Jordan Henderson in May, with Premier League set to decide in due course.

Should Liverpool clinch title glory, the trophy lift will take place against Chelsea – their final home match of the season.

There is still a huge amount of work to do for the Reds if they are to match Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ in 2003/04. The level of focus will have to be huge, especially as each game is ticked off closer to the end of the campaign.

There are trips to Manchester City and Arsenal to tackle, not to mention the Merseyside derby away to Everton, as well as the aforementioned home game against Chelsea.

Should Liverpool remain unbeaten, it will be a truly incredible feat, as this great team threatens to go down in history. If it were to happen, there may be a strong case to rank this Liverpool side above the Gunners, with their unbeaten season containing a whopping 12 draws.
