Liverpool have placed Atalanta forward Alejandro Gómez on their wishlist for the January transfer window.
According to Tuttosport, via The Mirror, Liverpool are interested in bringing Gomez to England this month.
The report claims that Liverpool are looking into the signing of Gomez after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Coutinho completed a record £142m move to Barcelona last week, leaving Liverpool with a hole to fill.
They are now eyeing up Gomez as the man to fill Coutinho’s boots, with a move for the Argentine forward this month.
The report does, however, claim that Atalanta have no plans to get rid of Gomez and will fight to keep hold of him.
The forward scored 16 goals in the Serie A last season, but has only scored four goals in 18 games so far this season.
Gomez was part of the Atalanta team that thrashed Liverpool rivals Everton in the Europa League earlier this season.
