Liverpool are eyeing up a potential swoop for teenage Hearts defender Aaron Hickey in the January transfer window.
According to Football365, Man City, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton, Norwich, Villa and Palace are all interested in the right-back, who has been impressing in Scotland.
The 17-year-old has already made nine league appearances for Hearts this season, scoring once.

Should Liverpool sign him?

Yes. However, they should then send him straight back to Hearts on loan. He is still very young and needs to experience regular first-team football to aid his development, rather than playing in the under-23’s at Anfield.
If Liverpool were to bring him in during the January window, sending him to Heats for the rest of the campaign would seem like a smart move. They could then reassess his situation next summer and potentially send him to an English team on loan to continue his progress.
You have to be a special talent to be playing regular football at such a high level at the age of 17, which bodes well for Hickey’s future. If Liverpool are able to sign him from Hearts, they could be acquiring a great prospect at right-back if they are able to manage him correctly.
