Liverpool continued their sensational start to the season with a 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were made to work for it, though, as it took Sadio Mane to win a penalty in the 95th minute to seal the three points.
Despite VAR not overulling the decision and there being clear contact, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have both since suggested that Mane bought the foul rather than earnt it.

READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT
Although it was not the most blatant penalty of all time, there is no hiding away from the fact that the referee and VAR both decided that there was a foul on Mane.
Marc Albrighton clearly stepped on Mane’s heel and fouled him, although you could then argue that he made a meal out of the contact – but that is what you have to do for referees to give decisons, unfortunately.
If Mane decided to stay on his feet, despite the foul, and the game ends 1-1 he would then be being lambasted for not trying to win the penalty. He made the right decision and Liverpool came away with the three points.
