Liverpool don’t have an official ‘best’ XI these days, with Jurgen Klopp building a formidable group of players who can interchange with one another in the side.
The Reds aren’t reliant on 11 players being the stars every week, with 17 or 18 top class individuals to call upon.
Despite this, Liverpool’s strongest possible starting lineup does tend to pick itself at the moment.
Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson make up the first-choice defence, even though Joel Matip enjoyed a superb 2019.
Fabinho has been out injured, but he is a key figure when fit, as are Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner are important in their own right, too.
Meanwhile, the front-three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino picks itself, making up a world-class starting XI.
An amazing statistic has emerged regarding that lineup, however, with the 11 individuals not taking to the field for a single minute together this season:
Most Minutes Played XI This Season: Alisson, Virgil, Gomez, Andy, Trent, Fabinho, Gini, Henderson, Sadio, Mo, Bobby.
Best XI? Probably.
# of times they've started together? 0

This is because mane wasn't on the season opener vs Norwich. Gomez actually started at CB that game. Then ali got injured, and fab followed.
