Liverpool fans call for Jota for start Champions League clash with Ajax

A number of Liverpool supporters are calling for Diogo Jota to start against Ajax, following some expert skill in training.

Jota made the move from Wolves during the summer transfer window, but he is still finding his feet at his new club.

The Portuguese scored against Arsenal on his debut, but is still looking for regular playing time, unsurprisingly struggling to get in ahead of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool open their Champions League account against Ajax on Wednesday night, making the trip to the Johan Cruyff Arena and hoping to rid themselves of the injustice against Everton last weekend.

It could be that Jurgen Klopp rotates his squad against the Dutch giants, especially with a Premier League clash with Sheffield United looming on Saturday evening.

Should that happen, it may be that Jota is drafted into the starting lineup, allowing him to shine on Europe’s biggest stage.

A video released on the club’s official Twitter account shows Jota shining in a rondo exercise, impressing with his off-the-ball work and showcasing the work ethic he possesses.

It has led to these Liverpool supporters calling for the 23-year-old to start in midweek, potentially at the expense of the out-of-form Roberto Firmino.
