Plenty of Liverpool fans have expressed their delight after reports claimed Timo Werner wants to complete a move to Anfield.
According to Bild, Liverpool are Werner’s “preferred goal” if and when he does go on to leave RB Leipzig.
The Sunday Mirror recently claimed that Chelsea had opened talks over a £60m move for the player, but Bild’s report suggests that he now has his sights set on a potential future switch to Anfield.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter are understandably delighted by the news.

Could you really blame Werner for wanting a bit of the action at Anfield? The Reds finally look set to end their wait for a Premier League title this season and as the current champions of Europe; is there anywhere better for him to play his football right now?
The only concern that could come with a potential move for Werner is how and where he may fit into the squad alongside Roberto Firmino. Described by the Bundesliga’s official website as ‘direct’ and ‘pacy’, Werner may not neccasarily fit the profile of player that could come in and perform a similar role to Firmino.
The Brazilian, who has previously been described as the club’s “connector” by Jurgen Klopp, is a crucial cog in the Liverpool team. Trying to fit both players into the same XI – without losing any of the Brazilian’s influence – could tempt Klopp into tweaking his system.
