Liverpool fans hail Elliott after he scores first Blackburn goal

Some Liverpool fans have been hailing Harvey Elliott, after he scored his first-ever goal for Blackburn Rovers.

The 17-year-old has joined the Championship club on loan for the rest of the season, hoping to enjoy more regular playing time.

Elliott was lauded after his performance in midweek against Watford, even though it came in a losing cause.

The forward has taken his good form into the weekend, however, finding the net in Blackburn’s 4-0 victory away to Coventry City, as well as registering an assist.

Elliott completed the scoring in the game, celebrating in delighted fashion as he bagged his maiden senior goal.

Liverpool’s decision to send him out on loan already looks an excellent decision, as he continues to learn his trade.

It was extremely difficult to see where he was going to play regularly at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Xherdan Shaqiri, Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi all ahead of him in the attacking pecking order.

The hope is that Elliott returns to Liverpool next summer a more mature, rounded player, becoming a key man for the Reds in the future.

The Liverpool supporters have taken to Twitter to laud the former Fulham man, expressing their delight about his goal.
