Gini Wijnaldum is a player who seems to find his best form in the biggest matches, thriving in the middle of the park.
The Dutchman was superb in Sunday’s 3-1 win at home to Manchester City, shining alongside Fabinho and Jordan Henderson as Liverpool went eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
On a day when so many Reds players caught the eye at Anfield, Wijnaldum was one of the best on show.
The 29-year-old took to Twitter to revel in the victory over City, also thanking the home fans for their support:
Get in Reds!!! 🔴 Massive win! 🙌🏾 Thanks for the incredible support Anfield ❤️ ⠀

Read Liverpool Verdict
Wijnaldum is a subtly effective player who can frustrate at times, but his worth to this Reds side is undeniable.
He is one of the most tactically astute players in the squad, rarely making the wrong decision and adding steel and intelligence to the midfield.
His influence is most noticeable when he isn’t playing, and while there are more eye-catching players in the team, but he is a key cog in the machine.
