Dani Ceballos admits he “had never seen anything like it” when he faced Liverpool earlier in the season.
The Spaniard joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in the summer, already catching the eye with his performances.
Ceballos suffered a humbling experience at Anfield last month, however, as the Reds swatted the Gunners aside, winning 3-1.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the midfielder admits it was an eye-opening day at the office, heaping praise on Liverpool in the process:
I had never seen anything like it,’ he says pausing to find the words to best do justice to the football hurricane that blew over Arsenal that day.
‘I’ve not seen up until now a team that plays better, that presses better. That game had quite an impact on me.
They suck the air out of you. You spend so much time defending and when you want to catch your breath and get on the ball for a bit, they’ve taken it from you again.
I think Jurgen [Klopp] now has the team he first had in mind when he started four years ago.
These Reds supporters have reacted to Ceballos’ comments on Twitter, enjoying the praise for their team.

Ceballos: “They take the air from you. You spend so much time defending and when you want to do something with the ball, when you want to breathe, they’re back on top of you. They’re very well-drilled.”
We are a nasty horrible team to play against and I love it ..#LFC 💪🏽

Read Liverpool Verdict
Ceballos’ comments speak volumes about what a fantastic team Jurgen Klopp has turned Liverpool into.
They must be horrendous to play against, pressing the life out of their opponents, keeping the ball and proving ruthless in the final third.
Some Arsenal fans tipped Ceballos to run the show at Anfield, but his performance was hugely subdued.
Liverpool swallowed him up like they do so many top players, once again registering three points in the process.
It’s Newcastle United up next on Saturday lunchtime, as Klopp’s men look to remain at the top of the Premier League.
