Liverpool fans mock Noel Gallagher after bold pre-season prediction

Former Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher is one of Manchester City’s most famous celebrity supporters, along with his brother Liam.

The pair watched City during a less successful era at the club during the 1980s and 1990s, and both have been vocal during a more glorious period in the last decade, as their team have won four Premier League titles.

Liverpool have become City’s closest domestic rivals in recent years, knocking them out of the Champions League in 2018, coming agonisingly close to pipping them league glory last season and sitting a massive 22 points clear this time around.

An intriguing piece of footage has been unearthed involving Noel, who gave a bold pre-season prediction back in the summer:

I’ve been told to dig this out and here he is

The 52-year-old spoke about how Liverpool’s chance had come and gone, mocking the fact that they are no longer a threat to City.

These Liverpool supporters have been making fun of the video on Twitter, with the legendary singer now made to look extremely foolish, given the Reds’ advantage at the top.

To be fair, he was right about Liverpool and City not being anywhere near each other…
