Young Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has produced some superb footwork for Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 side, earning plaudits from Liverpool supporters.
Playing in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Sweden, the 20-year-old showed the kind of confidence on the ball that Alisson would be proud of, shimmying past an opposition player in the process.
Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg was quick to reply on Twitter, applauding someone he works with every day at Melwood:
Calm under pressure what we need @LFC👊 https://t.co/jKeZohZky8

He wasn’t the only one to praise Kelleher, however, with these supporters taking to Twitter to laud Kelleher’s Alisson-esque brilliance.
I'd not seen this… Learned from the best. 👌👊😎

Read Liverpool Verdict
There are some who may feel that Kelleher is taking an unnecessary risk, but it is heartwarming to see that he is learning from Alisson.
The Brazilian is considered the best goalkeeper in the world by some and he is famed for his confidence on the ball.
Kelleher should be applauded for copying him and embracing the modern game, rather than changing his style of play at international level.
The youngster is highly thought of at Liverpool, with some tipping him to be Alisson’s deputy at some point in the future.
Current evidence suggests he is doing a good job in emulating the Reds’ No.1.
