Jordan Henderson is enjoying a fantastic run of form for Liverpool, playing superbly over the last month or so.
The Reds captain was his side’s standout player in Thursday’s 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Anfield, shining both on and off the ball.
A divisive player throughout his distinguished career, Henderson finally seems to be earning praise from the wider footballing public.
Someone who rates the 29-year-old highly is England legend Gary Lineker, who took to Twitter to heap huge praise on him on Thursday:
Think @JHenderson might just be the most underrated player in Premier League history. Guess I might have just changed that.

These Liverpool supporters loved Lineker’s post, hailing Henderson at the same time.

I’ve never underrated him, one the hardest working footballers out there, his passing has been on a different class all season and he is Liverpool’s club captain and deservedly so.

Read Liverpool Verdict
Henderson has been particularly brilliant since Fabinho’s injury, filling in perfectly in the No.6 role.
He is proving to be one of the best captains in the club’s history and he is also producing real quality week in, week out.
It would be fitting for Henderson to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season, as his career goes from strength to strength.
