It has been reported that Steven Gerrard could be set for a sensational return to Liverpool from LA Galaxy, who the former Reds captain joined in the summer.
The prospect of the Anfield legend returning to Merseyside has been met with mixed views.
Whether or not Gerrard should have been in the team last season was often a lively debate, as was Liverpool’s decision not to offer him a coaching role.
It is unclear whether the 35-year-old’s role would be a player or coach if he were to come back, but either way, a lot of Reds have had their say on the matter.
Here are some tweets from Liverpool fans since the story broke.
Steven Gerrard is still better than Joe Allen. Even for just 20 minutes to see a game through.

I’ve never doubted Gerrard’s ability but you have to understand he’s 35 now. He cant play pressing now. But let Klopp decide it. — Shadab Monjur (@Liverpool_World) November 4, 2015
It’s going to be a un-popular tweet but I personally don’t want Gerrard back playing with us. We need to look forward as a club not back IMO

Gerrard’s presence in the dressing room would be immense but I don’t want to see him on the pitch. He’s a legend but his legs r gone. #lfc — Kopite100 (@Kopite2014) November 4, 2015
I’d love Gerrard back at Liverpool. Not even arsed.

As much as I love Steven Gerrard I’m not convinced coming back is a good idea. I prefer the Klopp era to be a new era. — Kloppite (@PeteKopite) November 4, 2015
Gerrard isn’t coming back to play, but if he was, I’d still have him ahead of Milner in central midfield.

Klopp knows far, far better than me, but I’d have Gerrard back as part of the coaching staff tomorrow. — Dän (@LfcDan) November 3, 2015
Bringing Gerrard back would be classic Liverpool. Think the team need to carve their own path to success, his time is over.

Keep Gerrard as far away from this Liverpool side as possible. We’re turning all kinds of corners, lets not slam into reverse over sentiment — PhantomGoal (@PhantomGoal) November 3, 2015
It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out. Several Liverpool fans clearly don’t want him anywhere near the team but most would agree that having him around the place would be beneficial.
