Liverpool fans react to Elliott's impressive debut for Blackburn

Some Liverpool fans have been lauding the brilliance of Harvey Elliott, following an eye-catching debut for Blackburn Rovers earlier this week.

The 17-year-old is arguably seen as one of the most exciting young players in the world, moving to Anfield from Fulham last year.

Elliott has made nine first-team appearances for the Reds to date, invariably getting his chance in the Carabao Cup.

With Xherdan Shaqiri staying put at Liverpool beyond the summer, however, it suddenly became clear that opportunities would be hard to come by this season, especially with other wide men like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota ahead of him in the pecking order.

For that reason, Elliott has joined Blackburn on loan for the whole of the 2020/21 campaign, making his debut in Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat away to Watford in the Championship.

While the teenager was powerless to do anything about being on the losing side, he still produced a very promising performance, shining with his ‘Lionel Messi-esque style’ (according to some), using his wand of a left foot to good use.

Footage of Elliott’s debut quickly made its way onto social media, with various Liverpool accounts sharing it.
