Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister posted an angry Instagram message earlier in the week, following an obvious joke by Virgil van Dijk.
The Liverpool star claimed that the Portuguese wasn’t a rival in the race to win the Ballon d’Or, prior to narrowly losing out to Lionel Messi.
There has been a potential twist in the saga, however, with Empire of The Kop saying it may have been Ronaldo himself who penned the message.
Once translated into English, a lot of it appears to be written in the first person, suggesting the 34-year-old was pretending to be his sister.

Chances are this isn’t true, with the translation simply confusing matters.
It would be an incredible turn of events if it was the case, however, further adding to the idea that Ronaldo is far more insecure than many think.
Such is the size of his ego, it would be just like him not to see the funny side of Van Dijk’s joke.
