Liverpool fans rue the use of VAR as Mane’s header is disallowed

Liverpool fans have expressed their frustration with the use of VAR after Sadio Mane saw a goal ruled out against Watford.

Mane thought he had made it 2-0 with a brilliant header in the second half, only for the forward to be ruled marginally offside.

Video replays suggest that Mane’s hip was ever-so-slightly offside, meaning the game stayed at 1-0 and these Reds fans were not happy.

It may have taken a bit of time, but replays confirmed the correct decision was made.

While it was the right call, it was one of the closest and tightest calls the Premier League has seen this season.

With Mane’s hip judged to be offside by such a fine line, it raised the question; what advantage was he gaining from his hip?

Thankfully for Jurgen Klopp, the decision didn’t matter too much with Mohamed Salah scoring a second late on to secure a 2-0 win.
