It’s not too often that Jurgen Klopp finds himself as a divisive character, following a little over four years of brilliance at Liverpool.
Not only has the German done an unprecedented job at Anfield, but his all-round character has shone through to the masses.
All of a sudden, however, Klopp has riled a section of the footballing world, following his decision not to take charge of Liverpool’s FA Cup fourth round replay against Shrewsbury Town next month.
The 52-year-old will instead hand over the duties to Under-23s manager Neil Critchley, with no senior players taking part in the action.
Klopp’s reasoning is that the dates of the Reds’ winter break were already agreed – something the FA knew before scheduling the match.
Someone who is against Klopp’s decision is former Everton defender Michael Ball, who took to Twitter to lambast the Reds boss:
Sounds like Mr Klopp didn’t take out early holiday insurance and can’t cancel his booked winter break away. 😜
So he’ll do what he does best and once again disrespect a UK domestic cup.

These Liverpool supporters have mocked Ball’s comments, especially as Everton were knocked out by the Reds in round three.
