Liverpool have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign Kai Havertz, after Juventus pulled out of the race to acquire his signature.
That’s according to Sky Germany, via TEAMtalk, who claims that the Serie A giants no longer consider him a summer target, due to the outbreak of illness that is currently affecting football.
It means Liverpool and Bayern Munich appear to be the front-runners to land the Bayer Leverkusen star, with the Reds linked with the £81 million-rated star in recent months.

While I don’t think adding to Liverpool’s midfield is the biggest priority this summer, I think Havertz could be a game-changing addition in the middle of the park. The 20-year-old is one of Europe’s most highly-rated young midfielders, having scored 23 goals and registered eight assists in the last two seasons in the Bundesliga.
Havertz could bring a level of creativity in the middle of the park that can sometimes be missing – his average of 2.3 key passes per game in the league in 2019/20 is superior to every Liverpool player, barring Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Having to pay a reported £100 million to get the Germany international may prove to be an issue, however, considering it would smash Liverpool’s current record transfer fee that is set by Virgil van Dijk.
