Liverpool have “great interest” in signing Jadon Sancho next summer, according to former Reds favourite Didi Hamann.
Sancho has emerged as one of world football’s most exciting young players in the last 12 months, excelling for Borussia Dortmund and England.
A host of top clubs are believed to be monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress, with Liverpool one of those spoken of as a potential future destination.
Speaking to Sky90, Hamann talked up the idea of the Reds bringing in Sancho next summer:
What I hear is that Liverpool has great interest.
I would imagine that next summer they could become one of the biggest interested parties.

This is a big statement from Hamann, whose views on Jurgen Klopp in the past have actually angered some Liverpool supporters.
It does seem as though there is legitimate interest from the Reds in Sancho, however, which is hugely exciting.
The Dortmund forward is one of the best English players of his generation and could go on to be a world-class talent.
There is sure to be a major battle for his signature – both Manchester clubs are reportedly keen, too – but Liverpool must do their all to sign him.
Eventually, the Reds will need long-term replacements for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane – Sancho would fit the bill to perfection.
He is valued at €150 million by the CIES Football Observatory, which sums up his quality and potential.
