Liverpool deciding to keep hold of Bobby Duncan makes sense in many ways, but a move abroad could have aided his development.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have “no intention” of allowing the striker to leave the club on loan this summer.
Duncan has reportedly been pushing for a season-long move to Fiorentina, which subsequently saw him left out of Liverpool U23s’ squad to face Southampton on Monday night.
The 18-year-old is a player that the Reds “rate highly at the club’s Kirkby Academy” and he will continue to flourish there this season.

Duncan’s chances of featuring for Liverpool’s first team in 2019/20 remain slim, although an EFL Cup appearance may come his way.
The player himself could be frustrated at not being able to prove himself in a senior setup, but he does remain hugely inexperienced, with time very much on his side.
A spell in the U23s, where he has only just been promoted to after winning the FA Youth Cup with Liverpool’s U18s last season, makes sense.
If his performances for Neil Critchley’s team catch the eye, Jurgen Klopp will not be afraid to throw him in at the deep end.
