Liverpool are hoping former England defender and now club scout Jonathon Woodgate to aid their pursuit of Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.
According to the Daily Mail, Gibson is a target for a host of clubs in the Premier League, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs all interested in the defender.
Interest is only set to intensify following the defender’s call-up to the England senior squad.
Boro are hoping to fetch around £25 million for the defender, who has impressed for the newly-promoted side this season.

Former Real Madrid defender, Woodgate has a close relationship with Gibson from his time at the club.
The 37-year-old spent the last of his playing days at the Riverside in his second spell with the club from 2012-2016.
Chelsea have scouted the defender extensively over the course of the season, but Gibson may be searching for regular first-team football in his next move, which may favour Liverpool even more.
