Liverpool are negotiating with Boubakary Soumare’s representatives over a potential move from Lille, according to Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.
The 21-year-old midfielder could leave the Ligue 1 club this summer and he isn’t without suitors, with Barcelona one of those clubs reportedly keeping an eye on him.
The report states that Liverpool ‘have been negotiating’ with Soumare’s entourage for some time, although a move is a long way from being agreed.
The youngster has made 30 appearances for Lille this season.

Liverpool are well-stocked in midfield areas currently, but at the age of 21, Soumare would represent a long-term acquisition.
At Anfield, should he join, he would have the task of trying to oust Fabinho in the number six role, however, with the Brazilian still only 26 himself.
It is good to have strong competition for places, though, and as the likes of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum slowly move on to the latter stages of their careers, having ready-made replacements will be key.
Not only does Soumare average an impressive 89.8 per cent pass accuracy in Ligue 1 this season, he also averaged 2.0 tackles per match during Lille’s stint in the Champions League, highlighting the impressive campaign he is enjoying.
