Liverpool linked with Coutinho move – but are they in a better place without him?

Liverpool are reportedly among the teams to express an interest in a loan deal to re-sign Philippe Coutinho, so should the Reds make a move?

TalkSPORT reports that Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are all keen to sign the Brazilian.

This claim follows reports emerging from France that stated the Gunners were close to agreeing a loan deal for the player.

Well, this is an ever-changing transfer story and it’s one that is quite hard to predict. Such is the contrast in reports, it’s hard to tell what either Coutinho or Barcelona want to do this summer with regards to his future.

On the pitch, it’s fair to say that Liverpool have moved on from the Brazilian. Klopp has built a squad that is thriving, with the midfield set-up in particular playing a key role in their success last season.

That being said, it will present a difficult choice for Liverpool this summer with a player of his quality seemingly being made available. With Barcelona dangling the carrot in front of a number of Premier League teams, it’s hard to see where he will end up, if he moves at all.

Coutinho’s time at Barcelona has not gone to plan, while Liverpool achieved an incredible points tally of 97 last season and lifted their sixth European trophy.

Klopp has made his feelings on a potential Coutinho return clear and it looks like he more than anybody at Anfield has moved on.
